Treatment
Guasha primarily promotes metabolism, helping the body expel toxins. The repeated scraping action also facilitates the smooth flow of qi and blood, achieving muscle relaxation and meridian unblocking. This therapy is based on meridian and yin-yang theories, hence it possesses bidirectional regulatory properties, which can improve organ functions, balance the internal environment of the body, and fundamentally adjust the patient's overall condition.
As an external treatment method, Guasha therapy is applicable to a range of external diseases. Conditions such as skin itching, hives, stiff neck, lower back pain, and arthritis can all be treated with this therapy. Depending on the strength and direction of the scraping, it can provide either strong or gentle stimulation with different tonifying and draining effects. Strong stimulation is generally suitable for acute, febrile, and relatively superficial diseases such as colds, coughs, pain, vomiting, and diarrhea. Light stimulation, on the other hand, focuses more on adjusting the internal organs and is suitable for chronic, complex diseases such as gastrointestinal discomfort, diabetes, neuralgia, and insomnia.
